The Birth of Philippine Television
This post is for academic purposes only. Credit is to the original author(s). Experimentation October 23, 1953 marked the first official telecast in the Philippines. But even before that date, academic experiments with the novel electronic medium had been conducted by Jose O. Nicolas, an engineering student of the University of Santo Tomas in 1950; and two years later, by the FEATI Institute of Technology. First TV Station Even before these academic experiments were conducted, James Lindenberg, an American engineer and the future “father of Philippine television,” already saw the potential of television in the country. History of Radio in the Philippines
This post is for academic purposes only. Credit is to the original author(s). Radio in the Philippines started in 1924 with the establishment of KZKZ (AM) in Manila, Philippines by Henry Herman Sr., owner of the Electrical Supply Company in Manila. Henry Herman was an American and a former soldier who came to the Philippines to fight in the Philippine–American War. He stayed in the Philippines after he was discharged. This was not the first test however. Archives suggest that an American woman named Mrs. Redgrave used a five-watt transmitter for a test broadcast from Nichols Field (now Villamor Airbase). This test is possibly the first radio broadcast in Asia. Henry Herman’s station originally broadcast using a 5-watt…

Full Text of Pope Francis’ Homily in Tacloban Mass
Pope Francis always give powerful words which deeply touched people with listening hearts. It was more sentimental for the victims of typhoon Yolanda when they heard the homily of Pope Francis in Tacloban City, Philippines. Many have cried not just from the crowd during the mass but also those who watched and listened to His Holiness via media. Below is the English translation of Pope Francis’ homily. If you allow me, I prefer today to speak in Spanish. I have a translator, a good translator. May I do that? Thank you very much.
