The Ailing Railway System
The Aquino government is aiming to modernize the transportation system in the Philippines.
Yeah right. We are convinced.
Convinced that almost everyday, the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) are plagued by glitches, causing enough delays and inconveniences to the public.
If not power failure, the signal system or the door mechanism are faulty. Despite that the trains undergoes regular maintenance work, such trouble still happened—also regularly.
Worst, the managements of LRT and MRT are now pushing for fare increase to allegedly produce funds for the improvement of their system.
ONLY in the Philippines.

I actually support the fare hike since the LRT/MRT is operating at a loss for years now. What I hope lang is for the government to be really committed in improving the facilities.

They’re (the local government) is pushing (HARD) for light rail. They advertise it as the “wave of the future” and if we don’t get on board now (no pun intended) we’ll be playing catch up with the rest of the world for a long long time. So far I’m not convinced!

Buti na lang din gaya ni Mommy Joy, d ako madalas pumasok office para mag MRT or LRT. Pero dati hay sobra hirap lalo pag rush-hour na. Siksikan talaga mga tao. Sana maayos naman yung mechanical issues kasi maraming nagsusuffer ng commuters.

buti na lang hindi ako nag-e-lrt or mrt kasi nasa bahay lang ako lol. kidding aside, the government should look into it seriously, they should not just take it sitting down, tumayo naman sila!

Nahuhuli na nag Philippines when it comes to mass transit. Magulo din ang pila sa tickets pagalabas, Sana ayusin na nila para sa convenience ng lahat. I’m okay with the fare increase (na hindi na natutuloy) basta siguraduhin nila na they could deliver the service that they promised.

I hope our goverment will prioritize our railway system cause we are so behind to other countries when it come to railways!
