Millions of Filipinos Are Still Hungry

In a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) for Business World, about 3 million Filipino families are still hungry in the last three months. Well, it’s a little percent down from 4.1 million in March of this year.

Not new. Every survey, it was noted that the numbers of hungry Filipinos are in millions! Is it because our population is growing more and more? Or no administration can really solved the problem?

Philippines is rich in natural resources. Why can’t the government utilized it for the benefit of poor Filipinos? I said use it for Filipinos and not to make one’s pocket richer!

I think it’s because of the overpopulation and the government officials putting the money in their pockets. Unemployment is another cause. Administration I think is doing their best but it won’t work if i-asa sa kanila lahat. Kelangan din makipagtulungan ng mga mamayan, dba para mabawasan ang mga nagugutom 🙂

that is really a fact, even no surveys are conducted, you can see it for yourself. try observing those street children roaming around in carparks, sitting outside restaurants waiting for a leftover to be given to them, in the streets knocking on car windows begging for money or something to eat, especially in the wet market where plenty of them are offering “ate buhat, 10 piso lang”. looking at the shanties all around the metro vicinity, hay! living gets harder every day!

in every country where there are corrupt politicians, things are always worse than without. it will yet be in the future when the government that really works for man, will be established.

I guess it should work both ways.  First, the government should provide more stable jobs and other resources where Filipinos can earn incomes.  And they should stopped discussing topics/news that are not worth debating for.  Instead they should concentrate more on the major problems like poverty and unemployment.  Second, our fellow country men should also exert effort in trying to uplift their standards of living and not give the whole responsibility to our government alone.

Tama ka dothy, people should also know to cooperate to our government. Kailangan din nila magkusa para sila mabuhay ng matino sa pang-araw-araw. If our people know how to do those things, I think ma-lelessen ung poverty satin. Sipag, tyaga at honesty ang kailangan both government official and ordinary people so we can survive daily life challenges.

Yup, kasi karamihan puro na lang reklamo pero wala rin naman ginagawa para tulungan ang administration. I agree with sipag, tyaga at honesty ang kelangan – yung iba rin gusto easy money pero wala namang ganun dba 🙂

I guess corruption plays a major role, pero the people should really do their part. From the recent survey regarding P-Noy, sinasabi nilang hindi pa rin umuunlad yung buhay nila since umupo yung new president. In a way masyado silang nakaasa when it is in fact impossible na biglaan naman gumanda yung buhay ng lahat without making an effort.

It truly reflects the situation of many Filipinos. Sadly, seems to be that no administration even in the past had administration, actually solved the longtime problem in the country.

agree with you on that one, there really is no excuse in letting poor people suffer from hunger, it is one of the basics of human rights, for crying out loud!
