Election 2013: Campaign Jingles That Cost More Than Song
You know that campaign season has officially started when many television viewers and radio listeners would rather just put their headphones on and listen to their favorite playlists than to hear campaign jingles and ads.
Campaign jingles have been part of elections for decades now. Though they never guarantee that a candidate will win in the election, a well-composed jingle is effective in getting a name through the voters and becomes an indispensable branding tool. These do not come just for a song though.
These campaign jingles do come for a hefty fee though with some going for around 25,000 pesos to as much as 150,000 pesos. This amount does not even include the cost of getting it aired on television or played on the radio. Add to that the fee paid to popular musicians to sing their campaign jingles. All these do add up to a substantial amount that it really makes you wonder why these politicians gamble on spending such a huge amount just for a chance to win a seat in the government where they will be earning just a fraction of what they’d be spending during the election period.
Let’s just cross our fingers that all of them really long to make a change in the government and to uplift the lives of us citizens. Otherwise, we’ll all be doomed again for putting leeches on the seats of our government.

Sayang yung gastos. Sana theres a way na imbes na gastusin for campaign materials and strategies nla, ilaan na lang sana yung money to built new homes for the poor lalo na yung mga nakatira sa estero pra ma lessen na rin ang problems natin about floodings.

I hate the campaign jingles here in Bulacan. Some of them are using the Psy’s gangnam style jingle. Epic fail!
