Beware Of Fake Seasoning Products

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives have seized P3.5-million worth of fake Knorr Sinigang Mix and Maggie products in three separate raids in Tondo, Manila, Caloocan and Quezon City.

CIDG Director, Police Chief Superintendent Samuel D Pagdilao Jr. said operating elements from the Anti-Fraud and Commercial Crime Division (AFCCD) under Police Superintendent Benjamim C Acorda Jr. have confiscated 324,933 pieces of fake Maggie Magic Sarap products of Nestle Philippines and 181,459 pieces of Knorr Sinigang Mix products of Uniliver Philippines with estimated value amounting to 3,585,310.00.

Acorda said that armed with search warrants, the CIDG, along with representatives from Nestle and Uniliver, raided a warehouse in Tondo Manila, Balintawak Public Market, in Quezon City and in Vista Verde North Subdivision, Caloocan City 10:00 AM last October 22 and 23. The seized items were brought to Carepak Moving and Storage Warehouse, a third party bonded warehouse in Paranaque City for temporary safekeeping.

Acorda added that the owners of the raided establishments will be charged with violation of Section 158 in relation to Section 170 of RA 8293 (Anti-Unfair Competition Law).

Acorda said that with the advent of holiday seasons in the coming months, the CIDG, in cooperation with the said companies, will press more operations against the importers and distributors of these fake seasoning products to protect the public from buying these products which might be unsafe to consume.

    Thanks for the info now i know where i will not buy those fake seasoning. the consumers must be aware that there are fake seasoning product that are circulatin around metro manila
