Neil Armstrong Dies At 82
The first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong, dies at the age of 82. In a statement of his family, Armstrong was said to have died due to complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures. However, it was not reported where he died and the itinerary of his wake and interment were not yet divulged in public. It was Armstrong who commanded the Apollo 11 spacecraft that landed on the moon in July 20, 1969. US Woman Gave Birth To Her Grandson
It may not be the first time in other countries but I only now heard of this kind a surprising but somehow touching story of a woman who gave birth to her grandson. In a report from Portland Press Herald newspaper, Linda Sirois gave birth on August 13 for her daughter, Angel Hebert. The 49-year old woman from the United States were convinced to become a gestational surrogate for her daughter after being advised not to become pregnant because of a heart condition. Sereno: First Lady Chief Justice And The Second Longest In The Philippine History
The Philippines now have its first ever lady Chief Magistrate, Associate Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno. Today, President Ninoy Aquino administered the oath to Sereno. Sereno will have 18 years as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court before reaching the mandatory retirement age. She’ll be serving four Presidents: Aquino, the winners of presidential elections in 2016, 2022 and 2028. This would make her as the second justice with the longest years of appointment in the SC. Former Chief Justice Cayetano Arellano had 18 years and 9 months in the position.

Full Military Honors For The Late Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) rendered full military honors as the remains of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo arrived at the Villamor Airbase from Naga City today. Major Harold M Cabunoc, the Army Spokesperson, said that a battalion-size formation composed of almost 100 soldiers from the major services of the AFP, including soldiers from the General Headquarters, participated in the ceremony. “We are very proud to render our salute to an outstanding public servant whose shining examples must be emulated by everyone in the government service including soldiers,” said Cabunoc.
