Stop Using Children in Rallies

There should be no argument about the freedom of expressions guaranteed by the Philippine Constitution.

Filipinos who are dismayed over the alleged inconsistent and inutile government cannot be blamed for their actions like staging protest rallies anytime, anywhere. This is their only way to get (hopefully) the attention or to be heard by the reigning administration.

However, I find it uncalled for to those militants who were using children in their battle against failed bureaucracy.

They should be at the school or at home working on their assignments. Not on the streets where their lives could be endangered.

On the other hand, it is very unfortunate but should be admitted that this reflects the real situation of many Filipinos.

TVJ: I strongly agree with you about not making these poor children used in these rallies. These kids doesn’t even understand what they are supposed to be fighting for, in the first place! But the people behind these rallies used these kids for they represent innocence and vulnerability. They’d want to look or appear sinless in the eyes of the public as they voice out their endless grievances against the government. These kids should be in school studying or playing, not in some sort of rallies like these wherein any minute they could put their lives in danger. How sad…

I agree with you here. Using children in an activity like this is unfair to their rights.

I honestly believe MOST people who go to some rallies do not know the real cause they are fighting for. Sadly some people only do it for money and nothing else.

Oh really? I have not seen this! maling mali ang practice na ito, iminumulat nila ang mga bata sa maling paniniwala at pamamaraan, papaano pa tayo maiaahon sa kahirapan kung ganyan ang mga magiging utak ng future leaders natin? it’s ok to express dismays thru rallies but using children is improper!

their parents are to blame for draggig these innocent children to these potentially dangerous activities, there will be a proper and right time for these children to go out in the streets to let their voice be heard, but it is definitely not now…so sad 🙁
