Political Ambitions Make A Creative Politician
When everybody are on suspense while watching a live boxing fight in a city in Metro Manila, see carefully how a woman inside the ring campaigns for a candidate. One of the creative politicians in the Philippines. And oh, here’s their another style. Would you believe that right after a candidate won in an election and as soon as he assume the post, he will then plan strategies to win the coming election? It may be three to six years ahead. Either for re-election or aiming for a higher position in the government. Many would say that being a politician is a lucrative business. That’s why even celebrities ran for…

Where Are The Gentlemen? Sitting Comfortably..
WANTED: Gentlemen. It was a long line of standing women at the bus. I failed to catch the image of an old lady standing in the front of the line. I know some men would cry foul or unfair about this photo. It is not discrimination nor condemnation. Admit it or not, there are now few “respectful” Filipino guys left in the country. And we salute those who remain as “maginoo.” I heard some defending themselves on not giving their seat to elderly, pregnant women or young ladies – they pay the same fare. When I was 8-months pregnant, I gave my seat to an old woman with bulky bags…

Why Releasing Working Photos If The President Is Really Working?
Activist groups has a new tag for Philippine President Benigno Simeon Aquino III —- NOYNOYING. Noy-noying is referred to Aquino as a bored, non-performing President. And to counter it, did the administration intentionally released the President’s working photos? This is obviously, a pictorial. Well, Malacanang officials already said that those photos are not for damage control. And so, are we now expecting more and true accomplishments from the government especially for the welfare of poor and hungry Filipinos? Take look at the photo below. Empty desk, ash tray and a pack of cigarette beside him. Can you see a working President? Is it a candid shot? Apparently. International media, Wall…

Nightmares Of The Bus Riding Public
I am one of those millions of bus commuters in Metro Manila who in many ways were victimized by abusive drivers and conductors. * Late at work. Not due to heavy traffic but because some drivers move their buses slower than a turtle in a hope to get more passengers or rather overload their vehicles. Dela Rosa Transit air conditioned bus and BOTSC bus always do. * Amnesia. Some bus conductors will intentionally forget to give your fare change. And when it also skip your mind, sorry, it’s there bonus! What a dishonesty! * No refund. Since when the no refund policy was implemented? In one incident, Don Mariano Transit…

Women With No Table Manners?
There is no question if you want to look pleasing and presentable to others. Most woman do. But a woman with manners prefer to fix her face at the proper place like restroom, especially when you’re in a public place. It was a disappointing scenario when a group of women do their make-up on their table just right after eating lunch in a fast food chain at a mall. And worse, those women kept a family with a baby and a toddler waiting beside them until they finished! That family stood up for about 10 minutes watching those ladies fixing their make-up at the table! Wha!

Why I Stop Patronizing Cebuana Lhuillier
Simply because they only think of business and profit. Based on my own experience, they do not recognize humane consideration. That’s as far as I am concern. Some people may have the same encounter as mine, some are not. I remember one of their advertisement which featured by singer-actress Sarah Geronimo against other money transfer firms, bragging that they are more caring and have excellence than others. Well, that’s advertising. What do you expect from promotional tools but stating only what are their good services but not the failure of their system? Sometimes, too strict regulations can pose dangers to others. What am I talking about? When my son was…

Disastrous Earthquake In Japan: What Do We Learn From It?
Today, marked the first anniversary of the greatest disaster mankind had known which hit East Japan. For a minute, Japan fell silent to remember the 19,000 people who were killed in tsunami following the magnitude 9 earthquake. Japan Ambassador to the Philippines Toshinao Urabe said a year after the disaster, normal life is back in Japan except for very limited areas. “Japan is open for business, tourism and study. Japan has gone through crisis, survived and improved ourselves. This time it is better. We know that we are not alone,” Urabe said. “Of course, after such a disaster the road ahead is still hard and long. It is Japan’s responsibility…

I Am A Kidnapper?!
It was a slow Saturday afternoon. I’m doing my regular rounds at work when our immediate supervisor called up and asked me to assist an apparently lost 3-year old girl. The girl was accompanied by two men, who introduced themselves as concerned citizens, on our radio station. They claimed that the girl was abandoned in a food store in Quezon City and because they allegedly want to secure the child from harm, they decided to bring the child in our network office. Our first intention was to report the lost child in the police station (Quezon City Police Station 10 –Kamuning) nearby. But unfortunately, NO ONE would like to attend…
