Metro Manila Paralyzed By Heavy Rainfall And A Call For Help
It has been several days now of relentless rains. But today was different. There are now more than 800,000 people in Metro Manila and Northern and Central Luzon affected and displaced by the heavy rainfall and flooding. Nine has already died, according to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). The National Capital Region was paralyzed by floods, half of the region were submerged by floodwater. Several dams, Ipo, La Mesa, Ambuklao, Binga and San Roque are currently releasing water which already flooded the municipalities within its vicinity. It was like the Ondoy typhoon. No more doubt and fear that Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) would still loose it. New 7 Wonders of Nature President Bernard Weber had officially announced and confirmed today the inclusion of the 17-kilometer underground river in the Philippines, based on the results of a global poll.
